Shower tray

Recommendation

Depending the type of enamelling process which is used to manufacture shower trays, several best in class products can be used for this application.

Solfer® and Solfer®+ are suitable for the manufacture of complex parts (medium to deep drawing) and are compatible with all existing enamelling processes (direct-on white or coloured enamelling after degreasing, pickling and coating with nickel, two-coat / one-fire or ground enamelling after degreasing), with enamel layers being applied as either a liquid or a powder. Those grades offer excellent resistance to "fish scale" defects.

Cold rolled steels for conventional enamelling (as DC06EK or DC07EK) are also recommended. They are used for ground-coat enamelling one coat / one fire, or conventional enamelling two coats / two fire. Combined with Ready-to-Enamel, these enamelling grades are our best recommendation for this application. Ready-to-Enamel is a surface functionalization that can be specified on all grades for enamelling, which significantly improves the formability for difficult parts and also allows to eliminate degreasing operation before enamelling.
